Hello i am 16 years old and i have a four five part question.....First question, how far is the orion of nebula from our galaxy? second question, Where is the Orion of Nebula located from our galaxy, is it north side, west, south, or east? Third our galaxy is moving through space so what keeps our galaxy from not crashing to other galaxies, if there is such a thing? Fourth question, is the Orion of Nebula moving too, is everything in the space moving far away from each other? Is the Orion of Nebula part of our galaxy or is located outside our galaxy? And finally is the Orion of Nebula expanding towards earth? Thank you very much for your help...Ronaldoniceme@aol.com ------------ Hi sorry so long before responding to you....the orion nebula is approx 1500 light years away which means that if you were traveling 186000 miles per second it would take 1500 years to reach. yes our galaxy is moving through space along with all observable objects and one day many billions of years from now the milky way will collide with other galaxies....the hubble space telescope has imaged such collisions taking place as we speak, although keep in mind that all the objects you see is actually ancient history, for example if you look at the andromeda galaxy you are seeing light that originated over 2 million years ago. I hope I answered some of your questions. take care Scott
