August 31st 2006 Nasa announced that lockheed was the winner of the contract to build the next generation space vehicle to take us to the moon and mars, The Mercury7 Science Center will dedicate exhibits to this project.

My artwork using pictures from the mars exploration program

This is a busy time for the space industry, three space craft are arriving at mars ,Mars Express(ESA)and two rover missions Spirit(landing tomorrow january 3rd 2004 and Opportunity (Landing January 24th). We also had spacecraft Stardust rendevous with comet wild today successfully. I will post my artwork dedicated to these missions here as well as pictures returned by these spacecraft.

In January 2004
President Bush proposed for Nasa to build a new Crew Exploration Vehicle to take man back to the Moon
and then on to Mars. Congress has already funded the first years budget and the first test flights are scheduled for 2008, manned flights by 2010 and a return to the moon by 2015.
